Collective Agreements between Bectu and SOLT/UK Theatre do not cover Self-Employed Freelancers. Terms, hours and rates in those Collective Agreements are generally applicable to Workers and Employees in specific roles, so please ensure you’re aware of this when negotiating your contracts.
Sometimes rates from Collective Agreements are quoted to freelancers during job negotiations. For freelancers to earn a living wage, our hourly and daily rates must be substantially higher than employee rates.
